The Ten Real Time Board Game

1.Escape from the curse of the temple

The definition of an oldie, but goodie. Escape: The Curse of the Temple has been on my bookshelf for as long as I can remember and it was probably my first real-time board game. This is a great family game because it is very easy to jump in and play. The player are trying to find the exit to the temple and desperately need to roll the dice while moving from one room to another. A soundtrack will time the game and make sounds when player need to return to the safety of the initial tile.

2. Paramedic: Free

A game called “Heart strike in a Box” and rightly so. In Paramedics: Clearly, player are trying to save patients as quickly and efficiently as possible when it’s their turn. In each round, you must select all the patients in your ambulance with the limited supplies you have on hand. The app is mainly a timer, but the sound does an excellent job of scaring the player, as the ECG beep is getting faster and faster. This is one of the most exciting games I have ever played.

3. Captain Sonar

A team game in which two submarines chase each other. Each player controls a different role in the submarine and they must work together to secretly defeat their enemy. Although I really like Captain Sonar, it didn’t make it to the top of the list because it’s a bit difficult to get to the table. For this game to shine, you really need 8 player, and I rarely have that many. But if you can get a big group together, this one can be a gem.

4. Galaxy Trucker

A chaotic game in which player quickly assemble a spaceship from random tiles, with the aim of building the best cargo spaceship. Galaxy Trucker is split in half, and the first part is that you are desperately looking for tokens to try to put together a working spaceship. In the second half of the game, you will fly your spaceship through the route deck and see how well you did (and if it even survives meteorites and alien strikes).
