The Next Game by Chip Theory Game Is

Elder Scrolls: The Betrayal of the Second Era! Well, this isn’t really a new announcement since Chip Theory Games teased it months ago, but what’s new is that their preview page is live on Gamefound!

The Elder Scrolls gameplay is influenced by Too Many Bones, which is great news for this player, as I love Too Many Bones. CTG takes the lessons he learned from making too many bones, both what works and what wasn’t so good, optimizes it and applies it to the popular IP. Like Too Many Bones, it is cooperative and supports one to four player.

The central chest will contain content linked to the Black Swamp, Cyrodiil, High Rock, Morrowind and Skyrim regions. The site mentions the seamless integration of Valenwood (maybe these are extensive goals?), as well as the work that has already begun on future content at Hammerfell and Sommersend.

There will be a region map (it looks like they will place different neoprene maps next to each other to form the region) that player will explore, leading to encounters in cities, on the open road or in dark forests. There will be two types of action encounters, confrontations (in which you will know which enemies you are facing) and deepening (in which… You don’t).

But what excited me the most were the player’ mats. It looks like there is a main mat for your stats, with a mat on the left for your career and a mat on the right for your class. This would mean that you could combine any race and class you want. This is the kind of open customization that I love! (Note that I’m guessing this is due to an image on a preview page that clearly says “non–final components” next to it – that’s how player mats may not work at all.)

Finally, the campaign is expected to go live in March 2023. Can’t wait for more news as the campaign gets closer!
